Aoashi Reveals New 2nd Cour Key Visual & New Theme Song Artists – Anime Trending News
The boys soccer anime series Aoashi has revealed a new key visual for its upcoming second cour, which will begin its broadcast on July 2, 2022. The production team also revealed the new musical artists who will be performing the second cour’s opening and ending theme songs.
Musical duo Superfly will be singing the new opening theme “Presence” while Japanese rock band Kami wa Saikoro Wo Furanai will perform the ending theme “Color Lily no Koibumi.”
It has also been announced that additional voice cast members will be added for the show’s new characters. They include Takuya Eguchi as Akinori Kaneda, Koutarou Nishiyama as Junnosuke Nakano, Yuuki Ono as Chiaki Mutou, Tomoaki Maeno as Kouji Satake, and Kei Shindou as Miyako Tachibana.
They join a main voice cast headlined by Kouki Osuzu as Ashito Aoi, Tatsumaru Tachibana as Eisaku Ohtomo, Seiichirou Yamashita as Souichirou Tachibana, Taku Yashiro as Keiji Togashi, Shun Horie as Kanpei Kuroda, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Nagisa Akutsu, Yuuichirou Umehara as Haruhisa Kuribayashi, Mie Sonozaki as Noriko Aoi, Yoshiki Nakajima as Shun Aoi, Mikako Komatsu as Aoi Kaneko, and Kazuyuki Okitsu as Kenta Yoshitsune.
Akira Satou (Release the Spyce) is directing the anime series while Masahiro Yokotani (Tropical-Rouge! Precure) is handling the screenwriting. Manabu Nakatake (Sket Dance), Toshie Kawamura (Precure Super Stars!), Asuka Yamaguchi (True Cooking Master Boy Season 2), and Saki Hasegawa (True Cooking Master Boy) are all character designers for the anime. Masaru Yokoyama (Farewell, My Dear Cramer) composes the musical score. Production I.G. is in charge of Aoashi’s animation production.
The series is based on Yuugo Kobayashi’s manga of the same name and was first serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits on January 5, 2015. 28 tankoubon volumes have been published in total so far.
Crunchyroll is currently streaming the anime as it airs in Japan. It describes the series as:
“I’ll take you to the world.” Ashito Aoi is a middle schooler who lives in Ehime, and the ace of an unremarkable soccer club. The day that they lost the final tournament of middle school, Ashito runs along the ocean in frustration, before running into a man who had been watching his game. That man is Tatsuya Fukuda, the coach of the high-school-aged Youth team of a leading J-League team, “Tokyo City Esperion FC.”
After sensing immense potential in Ashito’s still-unrefined skills, he describes his ambition. “I want to build a team, and use it to take over the world. Our club isn’t going to be a milestone for players who take on the world. Our club is going to be the world. And to make this happen, I’m going to need some ‘aces’ to train.” After hearing Fukuda’s offer, Ashito decides to head to Tokyo and try out for his team.
