PGA 2K23 adds Steph Curry as playable character – sportal.co.in
Professional athletes have hobbies during the off-season. Most young pro athletes play video games and some even take the time to stream on social platforms such as YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook. Other athletes prefer outdoor activities such as golf when they’re not playing.
The four-time NBA champion will be a playable character in PGA Tour 2K23.
One such athlete is four-time NBA champion and eight-time All-Star Stephen “Steph” Curry who is an avid golfer during the off-season. Steph’s golf game is pretty good as he’s joined PGA celebrity tournaments such as the American Century Championship. He has participated in the Korn Ferry Tour, a developmental tournament for golfers who have not yet reached the PGA Tour level.
Running on from his passion for the sport, Steph Curry will be added as a playable character for PGA Tour 2K23. Curry will be a downloadable character when the game launches. He will not be shooting long-range three-pointers but he may be aiming to hit those hole-in-one shots.
When playing any sport, it is always important to wear the proper gear. Steph’s avatar for PGA 2K23 will feature his signature Under Armour Curry Iso-Chill Golf cap, Charged Curry SL shoes, Curry Polar polo shirt, and Curry Limitless shorts.
Curry is best known for his basketball prowess. Many consider the son of Dell Curry the greatest shooter of all time. He led the Golden State Warriors to four NBA Championships with the most recent being the 2021-2022 season. He also won his first Finals MVP award during the recently concluded season.
Steph Curry will not be the only NBA legend in PGA Tour 2K23. Players who pre-order the game will get the Michael Jordan bonus pack which makes His Airness a playable character.
Like Curry, Jordan is also an avid golfer. Jordan loves golf so much that he once played a match against Boston Celtics legend Danny Ainge before their NBA playoff game. Jordan also owns a private Golf course called Grove XXIII and a golf clothing line under the Nike Jordan brand.
It would be interesting to play a head-to-head matchup between Curry and Jordan to see who is the better golfer. Both players can also challenge PGA pros such as Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas, Lexi Thompson, Lydia Ko, Brooke Henderson, and more. Tiger Woods will be the cover athlete for PGA Tour 2K23.
PGA Tour 2K23 will have a Deluxe and Tiger Woods edition of the game. The Deluxe Edition contains the Michael Jordan Bonus Pack, Golden Club Pack, and Deluxe Edition Bonus Pack. The deluxe pack includes “1300 VC (Virtual Currency), a hockey stick putter, gold baseball cap, gold glove, and three Rare consumable golf ball sleeves”
The Tiger Woods Edition contains the Deluxe edition and the Tiger Woods Bonus Pack. The Tiger Woods pack will include a Tiger Woods TaylorMade wedge set, Nike TW Golf tee shirt, and three Epic consumable golf ball sleeves.
The standard edition of PGA Tour 2K23 will cost $59.99 while the cross-gen standard edition retails for $69.99. The Deluxe edition can be purchased for $99.99 and the Tiger Woods Edition costs $119.99.
PGA Tour 2K23 will launch on October 14 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
